How Do Estate Sales Work?
Estate Sales, also called Tag Sales, are a way of liquidating the belongings of a family or estate. They are usually much larger than a regular garage or yard sale. Many people use estate sales when someone is in need of a way to sell items due to downsizing, moving, divorce, bankruptcy, or death.
Estate sales work by inviting the public into the home where the items reside to peruse the items marked for sale to purchase, just like in a regular store. Sometimes there are items that are not for sale because the family has decided to keep them or future owners of the house have made them part of their home purchase contract.
Items are generally marked with a selling price; if you would like to purchase it you may carry it with you until you are ready to check out. Oftentimes there are large items for sale such as furniture or equipment; if you would like to purchase a large item that is not convenient/possible to carry around, alert a staff member and we will mark it as 'Sold' until you are ready to check out and move it to your vehicle. Sometimes we will be able to accept bids for an item if you are not willing to pay the full price but someone may purchase the item for the full price before the estate sale is over and you will have missed out on the item.
If you are interested in coming to an estate sale, keep in mind that sometimes a line may form before the site is open. If you want to check out the most items or grab a popular item before it is gone, do plan on arriving early. We operate on a first come, first served policy.

Marc has the best estate sales. I've been to his sales in Bridgeport, Stratford and as far north as West Hartford.
